Cardiogenic Shock Case Conference

The VHAC Cardiogenic Shock Case Conference, hosted by the VHAC Shock Workgroup, is a recurring case-based learning series focused on real-world cardiogenic shock care across Virginia.

Each session features a case presented by a participating hospital or clinical team, followed by discussion around clinical decision-making, treatment strategies, systems of care, challenges, and lessons learned. The series is designed to promote shared learning, strengthen collaboration, and support ongoing improvement in cardiogenic shock care across the Commonwealth.

These sessions are intended for clinicians, EMS professionals, hospital teams, and other partners involved in the care of patients with cardiogenic shock.

Interested in Presenting a Case?

The VHAC Shock Workgroup invites hospitals and clinical teams from across Virginia to present a case during an upcoming VHAC Cardiogenic Shock Case Conference.

Cases may highlight challenging clinical decisions, treatment strategies, escalation of care, mechanical circulatory support, transfers, systems-of-care barriers, or lessons learned. The goal is not to showcase a “perfect” case, but to create meaningful discussion and shared learning that can strengthen cardiogenic shock care across the Commonwealth.
