EMS Education Workgroup

The EMS Education Workgroup is a standing workgroup within the Virginia Heart Attack Coalition (VHAC) focused on the development and coordination of EMS-focused cardiovascular educational content. The workgroup brings together pre-hospital clinicians, EMS educators, medical directors, and health system partners to support evidence-informed education related to pre-hospital assessment, management, and patient transport for time-sensitive cardiovascular conditions.

This workgroup serves as a collaborative forum to identify educational needs, develop practical learning resources, and align EMS education with evolving systems of care, including interfacility transfer pathways between non-PCI and PCI-capable facilities, critical access hospitals, and acute care centers. Educational materials developed through this workgroup are intended to support learning and shared understanding across participating organizations and may be shared broadly across the Commonwealth for awareness and alignment.
